Dinner with Jennie and David. I made an ersatz strawberry shortcake from the Times, which used a brown butter cake in lieu of the biscuits. Delicious, but I don't think I would bother with cooking the strawberries again.

    Day 2: still delicious. I might never bother with shortcakes again. Not the cake was easier.
