I made up a slow cooker lentil dish, with tomatoes and coconut milk and lots of toasted spices (plus ginger and garlic). Rich and delicious, but I underestimated how long it would take to cook them. So we were sitting around waiting which always makes for crankiness. We had rice and sauteed cabbage (more ginger and garlic, hot peppers, turmeric) alongside. Carter had categorically refused to eat lentils for dinner, but he surprised me (and himself) by liking them quite a bit. It is hard not to like creamy coconutty things.
