Dinner with Jennie and David; Jason made a truly beautiful loaf of olive bread. Over the summer he has been making his bread all in one day (instead of overnight) since it is so hot. This one was perfectly domed and pretty. My picture doesn't really show it:
I made a spice cake from Food52 that I made a few years ago. As I was eating it, I realized that the "caramel" icing is the same as the penuche icing from my favorite banana cake. The cake itself is a little dense, but I sort of love it.
