Another Jason-suggested dinner: grilled cheese, old school ---cheddar, store-bought white bread. Plus cream of asparagus soup (my nod to our need for vegetables). The soup turned out really well (despite the name, no actual cream in it), and the grilled cheeses were, thanks to patience, perfectly cooked. Itried one variation: spread one of the sandwiched with mayo instead of butter. Jason was the guinea pig and he liked it. I should have tried it in the name of science but stuck to butter. More sundaes for dessert, because that was quite a  large batch of hot fudge.
