I tried to make a mean that Carter would really like. It mostly worked: buttermilk biscuits were a big hit, especially with raspberry jam and gruyere, my deviled eggs were good, but my experimental sauteed kale salad with green tahini dressing was unloved (even by me). The kale is just so damn chewy, and the whole thing tasted flat. I added cherry tomatoes and feta to the called-for citrus. Don't know if it helped or hurt.
